2/22/06 Cane is out of the hospital and is in for a bit of rehabilitation before he can be adopted...He can also use a few prayers, this is one special dog. Cane was picked up by animal control after being hit by a car. His owners were contacted and could not financially afford to care for him due to a new baby on the way. When the director of the shelter saw Cane and realized how much pain he was in, and yet his tail nub still wagging, she knew he was a remarkable dog. The owner was very distraught, so the director assured the owner she would do her best to find someone to take Cane and get him the medical care he needed and NOT put him down. So she called ARF...Cane had two broken hind legs and has had surgery. He is in for a bit of rehab and recovery before he will be ready for adoption.
